The House of Cider

LE HEZO

    Boissons

The sunshine is the strongest there and the rainfall the lowest in Brittany: the Gulf of Morbihan is one of the land of choice for the Guillevic apple, one of the oldest varieties of apple trees in the region.

A few years ago, this little green apple was going to fall into disuse.
A handful of die-hards gathered to re-bloom their orchard of this variety which produces one of the best ciders in Brittany: the Royal Guillevic (the only red label cider).
Didier NICOL is one of them.
On its 13 hectares of orchard, it produces, in the respect of a reasoned culture (30 beehives are permanently installed there), unpasteurized Breton bouché cider, as well as apple juice, without forgetting the Royal Guillevic.
Resulting from the rigorous selection of apples from the orchard, the juice will ferment for a few months in an air-conditioned tank at 8 ° C to refine its aromas and become a balanced cider.
La Maison du Cidre offers you a visit: "discoveries and tastings" in an authentic setting to understand the traditional cider-making activity of the NICOL Family (3rd and 4th generation) from the origin of apple cultivation to distillation. by the living glazed beehive, the conservatory orchard, the old crushers, the old presses including the long-grip press dating from the 18th century.
Raw, sweet or fruity, it's a refreshing visit to the heart of tradition!
La Maison du Cidre also welcomes you for a snack from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.: plain pancake, salted butter caramel, chocolate or honey (our pasta and toppings are homemade).
Cider and apple juice bar (cider and Venete's lager beer on tap). Without forgetting the shop where various products of the Breton soil await you.
Museum and Boutique open all year round.
Closed Sundays except July / August.
