Swamp Sentinel

In the shade of the hundred-year-old oaks, the imposing silhouette of the remains of the castle of Ranrouët is revealed.

Located in a unique and unusual setting, this sentinel of the marshes is different from the perched sites. Built from the 13th century, it was constantly reworked until the 17th century.

The successive owners, the Assérac, the Rochefort, the Rieux knew how to adapt it to the needs of their time. Both a fortress and a residence, the Château de Ranrouët is also an essential witness to the history of Brittany.
